For most of my life, a gay man working in str8 world, I always struck by a mixture of envy and anger when I was confronted on the job or at a social event I had orchestrated as my hospital’s PR guy, or just sunning myself at the Jersey shore, to see a guy and a gal making out or holding hands. Why couldn’t we do exactly the same, and not just on a block of West Hollywood or Christopher Street. Was it so wrong for two men to show one another affection in public? At times, I felt like str8s were actually flaunting this privilege in our faces, knowing that we gay people wouldn’t have the balls to even consider doing it in the local mall food court without fear of being tire-ironed in the parking lot.
Now we’ve got the whole Michael Sam Kiss pic. Michael Sam, who may become the first openly gay professional football player in history, kissing his lover, Vito Cammisano, on hearing he had been drafted by the St. Louis Rams. The pic went viral; LGBTers loved it, but many in str8 circles, even while professing tolerance and acceptance, bellyached, “I don’t want to see that.”
Well, to all of you two-faced fucks, this is all I got to say:
We had to put up with your shit all our lives. Now it’s your turn to put up with ours!
